Established in 1984, Parker Taylor is a family owned high-end retailer on the High Street of Bridgnorth. The store has a unique cultural connection to the surrounding area.
Parker Taylor is partners with Majors, another retailer selling quality casual clothing for men and women in three locations around Shropshire.
Our continuing success can be put down to the exceptional quality of clothing combined with excellent customer service from our friendly sales team.
Parker Taylor was founded in 1984 by Mr J. Parker and Mr H. W. Taylor. Previously the two of them ran their own clothing stores around Bridgnorth.
Mr Parker and Mr Taylor joined forces to serve quality goods to the gentlemen of Bridgnorth for nearly 20 years.
In 2003, Richard Major, the fourth generation of Majors retail acquired Parker Taylor. The store is so beloved locally, Richard decided to keep the store’s name and spirit to continue the legacy of the founding duo. Parker Taylor became the fourth store in the Majors group, who are celebrating their 150th Anniversary.
With the experience of Majors retail, a womenswear department was introduced to Parker Taylor in 2009. Together the companies share the same values of selling quality clothes with a bespoke personal service.
Majors, Parker Taylor’s partnering company, was established in 1874. Majors is the oldest retailer in Shrewsbury, Becoming a part of the fabric of Shropshire with its existence spanning 150 years, through two World Wars and six monarchs. Majors has remained in a direct family line for five generations.
Starting as a hat shop, then a tailors making officers uniforms during the wars, to now selling high quality casual clothing for men and women.
